DURASTEEL® Fire Protection Systems  - Distributed in Australia by Promat Australia
Introduction home
  What is DURASTEEL® ?

DURASTEEL® is a composite panel of fibre cement mechanically bonded to punched steel sheets on both surfaces. It is classified as non-combustible in accordance with many national and international standards and is highly resistant to moisture even when saturated. It will not absorb combustible fluids and its fire resistant qualities are exceptional.

DURASTEEL® is highly impact and blast resistant, enabling it to withstand prolonged exposure to fire of the cellulosic, hydrocarbon or jet fire types. It can also withstand hose stream actions and, because of its very low moisture absorption, it can be used externally. It is not susceptible to the damage often occurring to other materials by being exposed to the elements during the early stages of construction and installation of the system, or by sprinkler actuation.

DURASTEEL® is a ‘fit-and-forget’ system which requires virtually no maintenance other than regular visual inspection.

DURASTEEL® is typically specified in distribution, storage and warehousing, military buildings, petrochemical plants, airports, underground train stations, road and rail tunnels, utility installations and fire resistant ducting applications for plant rooms and substations, in major commercial and public assembly buildings.

DURASTEEL® has been installed on many prestigious sites in across the world. For Australia including World Square, the Hilton Hotel refurbishment, Kwinana & Vales Point power stations, Sydney Harbour & Cross City tunnels, Munmorah & Wallerawang power stations, Lane Cove tunnel, Westfield Sydney CBD redevelopment and M5 East Tunnel. Durasteel is currently specified  for high performance barriers and ducts on numerous projects around Australia.
